Al-Mustaqbal University, represented by its President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, participated in the 36th Annual Conference and Exhibition of the European Association for International Education (EAIE 2026), held at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC Centre) in Glasgow, United Kingdom, from 8 to 11 September 2026, under the theme “The Rhythm of Revolution.”
The university’s participation reflected the presence of Iraq and Al-Mustaqbal University at one of Europe’s leading international platforms for higher education and academic internationalisation. The university represented Iraq as the participating Iraqi academic institution within the FEDE Pavilion (Booth #F29), showcasing its academic portfolio of 55 educational programmes, in addition to its educational and research capabilities.
The university’s dedicated pavilion presented an integrated overview of its academic identity and research potential, highlighting its location in Babylon, Iraq. It also showcased aspects of Iraq’s rich cultural and civilisational heritage, reflecting the connection between its ancient legacy and the advancement of modern higher education.
The participation also provided an opportunity for Al-Mustaqbal University to engage directly with leading universities and educational institutions from around the world, including those from France, Germany, Canada, Ireland, Italy, Switzerland, and other countries. These engagements aimed to explore new opportunities for academic cooperation, as well as student and research exchange.
Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, emphasised that the university’s participation in international academic forums is driven by a strategic vision focused on establishing sustainable institutional partnerships and transforming them into meaningful programmes, projects, and opportunities that serve students and researchers while strengthening the university’s position within the global higher education community.
As part of its participation, Al-Mustaqbal University signed a number of bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding with participating universities and educational and research institutions. These agreements aim to develop joint academic programmes, enhance academic and research exchange, and benefit from the latest global trends and strategies in the internationalisation of higher education.
This participation forms part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s strategic vision to consolidate its presence at international academic forums, expand its global partnership network, and provide greater opportunities for international cooperation for its students, academic staff, and researchers. It also supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
Al-Mustaqbal University continues to expand its international academic presence and strengthen its engagement with global educational and research institutions, supporting its ongoing pursuit of excellence and leadership in higher education.
