Al-Mustaqbal University Promotes Environmental Awareness on World Clean Air Day

Al-Mustaqbal University organized an awareness event to mark the International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of the University, and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, along with several department and division directors, staff members, and students. The event was held in the university gardens and organized by the Sustainability Division at the University Presidency, with the aim of highlighting the importance of maintaining air quality and raising awareness of the risks of air pollution and its impact on human health and the environment. Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi emphasized the importance of promoting environmental awareness and highlighting challenges related to climate change and air pollution, pointing to the university’s role in supporting scientific and research initiatives that contribute to addressing these challenges. The event also highlighted the efforts of the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Energy Research in monitoring air quality through a specialized station that measures pollutant and gas levels and provides scientific data that can support research and studies related to the environment, energy, and climate. For his part, Eng. Khalid Kadhim Al-Salihi, Head of the Sustainability Division, explained that the university continues to implement a range of sustainable practices, including expanding green spaces, promoting green transportation, improving waste management, and enhancing environmental awareness among students and staff. This event is part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility, fostering a healthy and sustainable university environment, and supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
