Al-Mustaqbal University Celebrates World Clean Air Day and Promotes a Culture of Sustainability On Sunday, September 7, 2026, Al-Mustaqbal University, under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, celebrated World Clean Air Day for Blue Skies by organizing an awareness-raising event outdoors in the university gardens. The event was attended by Professor Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, along with a number of department and division directors, staff members, and students. The event reflects the university’s commitment to enhancing environmental awareness and promoting sustainability across the university community. The event was organized by the Sustainability Division at the University Presidency to highlight the importance of maintaining air quality, raise awareness of the risks of air pollution and its impacts on human health and the environment, and promote behaviors and practices that contribute to creating a healthier and more sustainable university environment. During the event, Professor Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi emphasized the importance of utilizing international observances and awareness days to promote awareness of the issues and challenges facing the international community, particularly climate change and related environmental challenges. He noted that air pollution is one of the major environmental issues associated with these challenges, requiring intensified scientific and community efforts to mitigate its impacts and raise awareness of its risks. Dr. Al-Zuhairi also highlighted Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to monitoring air pollution levels and gases resulting from various activities. He explained that Al-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center is responsible for monitoring air quality through a specialized station that provides scientific data on pollutant levels. This contributes to establishing a database that researchers and postgraduate students can utilize in conducting studies and research related to the environment, climate, and energy.
