Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdy, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the university commemorated the International Day of Charity (observed annually on September 5th) by organizing a specialized scientific workshop aimed at fostering a culture of giving, volunteering, and social responsibility within academic institutions.The workshop was attended by the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, alongside college deans, department heads, and faculty members.The event opened with an address delivered by Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy on behalf of the University President, highlighting the importance of instilling human values and volunteerism as core components of the university's mission toward human development and community service. The program featured a presentation by the Head of the Sustainable Development Unit, Mr. Khalid Kazim Al-Salhi, who discussed charity as a fundamental pillar of human solidarity and social cohesion. He emphasized transitioning from short-term aid to structured, sustainable initiatives. Furthermore, he outlined the university's efforts to leverage education and research to address community needs, encouraging students to actively engage in volunteer projects.The workshop concluded with a commitment from Al-Mustaqbal University to sustain its institutional focus on social responsibility, transforming international humanitarian observances into actionable opportunities that support long-term sustainable development.
