Al-Mustaqbal University continued to strengthen its research presence on the global scientific scene by recording 21 newly indexed research papers in the Scopus database during the period from August 21 to 27, 2026, according to a comprehensive bibliometric and statistical analysis conducted by the University of its weekly research output. Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majidi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, stated that the results of the data analysis showed that 76.2% of the publications, totaling 16 research papers, were published through open-access models (Gold, Hybrid, and Green), contributing to the international visibility of the University’s research output and increasing opportunities for access and citation. The average number of researchers per paper reached 7.29, reflecting the expanding scope of research teams and the growing level of scientific collaboration among researchers. The Medical Sciences field ranked first among the disciplines, with 9 publications, followed by Biochemistry, Genetics and Molecular Biology with 7 publications, Engineering with 5, and Computer Science with 4 publications. The University’s research output also covered fields including Materials Science, Nursing, Energy, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, and Social Sciences. At the level of international research collaboration, University researchers co-authored studies with scientists from 10 countries. Egypt, Iran, and Saudi Arabia ranked first, with three research papers each, followed by China, Jordan, Pakistan, and Türkiye, in addition to Hungary, India, and Malaysia. The University also continued to strengthen its local research partnerships with University of Babylon, University of Karbala, University of Kufa, and Jaber Ibn Hayyan University, alongside international partnerships with University of Nottingham Ningbo China, Wenzhou-Kean University, Taif University, and Khazar University. The newly indexed research papers were published by several prestigious international scientific publishers, foremost among them Nature Research, Elsevier, and Frontiers Media, in addition to a number of regional academic publishers. This achievement reflects the growing research activity at Al-Mustaqbal University and confirms that scientific research represents a fundamental pillar of its academic mission.
