Students from the College of Engineering Technologies at Al-Mustaqbal University continued their international training program at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) in the United Kingdom, as part of the “Digital and Intelligent Systems for Engineering” program. The third day featured an advanced training experience that combined academic knowledge with modern engineering applications, with a particular focus on intelligent systems, innovation, and advanced engineering.
The third day of the program covered a range of specialized scientific and practical topics. It began with an introduction to systems thinking and systems engineering concepts, alongside an exploration of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence applications in managing complex engineering projects, in collaboration with Synoptix. This provided students with insights into real-world models for employing intelligent technologies in the development of innovative engineering solutions.
The program also addressed precision engineering applications in the medical field, highlighting the latest trends in the development of gene therapy technologies and medical innovation through a specialized training session delivered with the participation of an expert from AskBio. Students also benefited from academic and research expertise associated with Cardiff University, enhancing their understanding of the integration of engineering, medical sciences, and biotechnology.
In another session, students were introduced to the research and innovation funding ecosystem in the United Kingdom through UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). The session explored mechanisms for supporting research and innovation projects, as well as available funding opportunities, helping students understand the pathways required to transform engineering ideas and technological innovations into viable projects capable of further development and implementation.
This training program reflects Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to broadening students’ horizons by providing opportunities for learning and training in international academic and professional environments, connecting theoretical knowledge with modern applications, strengthening their scientific and technical capabilities, and preparing them to keep pace with the rapid developments in engineering, artificial intelligence, and digital systems.
The students’ continued participation in this program is part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s efforts to strengthen international academic mobility, support innovation, and develop advanced engineering skills, in line with its vision of preparing graduates capable of competing in global professional and research environments.
