The Dean of the College of Science at Al-Mustaqbal University, Assistant Professor Dr. Furat Hamza Al-Sultani, held a meeting on Monday, August 31, 2026, with the activity officers representing all departments of the College. The meeting was held at the Deanship’s headquarters and was attended by activity officers and representatives from the various departments.
The meeting aimed to discuss the proposed activities plan for the academic year 2026–2027, in line with the College and University’s commitment to supporting scientific, cultural, social, and sports activities and encouraging students to actively participate in programs and events that contribute to developing their skills and capabilities.
The meeting addressed several key aspects related to the preparation and implementation of the annual activities plan. The proposals submitted by the various departments were reviewed and discussed, along with mechanisms for organizing events and programs throughout the academic year. Particular emphasis was placed on diversifying activities to meet students’ interests and contribute to creating an interactive and motivating university environment.
The Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Furat Hamza Al-Sultani, emphasized the important role of university activities in developing students’ personalities and enhancing their scientific, cultural, and social skills. He stressed the importance of cooperation and coordination among the different departments in designing meaningful and high-quality programs that contribute to achieving the College’s objectives and enhancing students’ participation in university life.
The meeting also discussed ways to develop student activities and improve the quality of proposed events by providing students with broader opportunities to participate, innovate, and showcase their talents and abilities. It further highlighted the importance of promoting initiative, teamwork, and effective communication between students and academic staff.
A number of ideas and proposals were presented during the meeting to enrich the annual activities plan. Emphasis was placed on developing comprehensive programs that include scientific, cultural, awareness, social, and sports activities, contributing to both the academic and personal development of students and enhancing the overall quality of university life.
The meeting also emphasized the importance of documenting activities and events and highlighting them through the College’s media channels, reflecting the efforts made by the College of Science and its departments in supporting students and promoting meaningful initiatives. This also contributes to strengthening the College’s presence and participation in various university and community events.
This meeting is part of the College of Science’s ongoing efforts to promote student activities and provide an integrated university environment that combines academic education with extracurricular activities. These efforts support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) by providing inclusive educational and developmental opportunities, SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by supporting activities that promote students’ physical, psychological, and social well-being, SDG 5 (Gender Equality) by ensuring equal and active participation in activities, and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) by fostering cooperation, participation, and responsibility within the university community.
