Al-Mustaqbal University participated with an official delegation in the 12th International Workshop of the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings for Sustainable Universities (IWGM 2026), hosted by the environmentally oriented campus of Umwelt-Campus Birkenfeld, affiliated with Trier University of Applied Sciences in Germany, from August 24–26, 2026. The workshop brought together university leaders, academics, experts, and sustainability specialists from universities and international institutions. The delegation of Al-Mustaqbal University was represented by Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Shaker Majdi, Dean of the College of Engineering at Al-Mustaqbal University. Their participation reflects the University’s commitment to strengthening its international presence and exchanging expertise and best practices in the fields of university sustainability, green infrastructure, resource management, energy and water management, waste management, sustainable transportation, education, and scientific research. The hosting of the workshop by Umwelt-Campus Birkenfeld holds particular significance, as the campus ranked first in Germany and fourth worldwide in the 2025 UI GreenMetric World University Rankings.
