Al-Mustaqbal University Strengthens Its Academic Position with Distinguished Recognition in the Global University Presence Index (GUPI)

Al-Mustaqbal University has achieved a new academic milestone by being officially included in the Global University Presence Index (GUPI), published through the Top Arab University Rankings platform. This achievement reflects the University's growing academic and digital presence at both the Arab regional and international levels. This recognition highlights the University's advanced standing in scientific research, academic productivity, and digital visibility, further strengthening its competitiveness among leading higher education institutions. According to the official data released by the Index, only seven Iraqi universities fulfilled the criteria for academic impact, research productivity, and digital presence. These universities are the University of Baghdad, Al-Mustansiriyah University, University of Technology, University of Babylon, University of Basrah, University of Mosul, and Al-Mustaqbal University, which is the only private university included among this distinguished group. At the Arab level, the GUPI provides a comprehensive evaluation of universities across more than ten Arab countries by analyzing hundreds of thousands of peer-reviewed scientific publications and benchmarking their performance against more than 20,000 higher education institutions worldwide listed in major international rankings, including Times Higher Education (THE), QS, Scimago, and Webometrics. The Index employs an advanced methodology that integrates academic data analytics with artificial intelligence to evaluate six key pillars: performance in international rankings, research impact and scientific publishing, global academic presence, international research collaboration, digital infrastructure and online academic content, and academic as well as professional reputation. In the area of scientific publishing, Al-Mustaqbal University recorded 2,491 peer-reviewed scientific publications in the Index database, reflecting the continuous growth, quality, and impact of its research output within the academic community. This achievement is the result of the University's strategic vision, which focuses on enhancing the quality of education, promoting applied scientific research, expanding international academic partnerships, and advancing sustainability initiatives and digital transformation in line with the evolving requirements of modern higher education. Commenting on this achievement, Professor Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, stated that the University's inclusion in independent international rankings serves as a strong incentive to continue its journey of academic excellence and institutional development.
