Al-Mustaqbal University Strengthens Its Global Presence Through a Strategic Partnership with the Union of Mediterranean Universities (UNIMED)

As part of its strategic vision to internationalize higher education and expand its global academic engagement, Al-Mustaqbal University held a bilateral virtual meeting with the Union of Mediterranean Universities (UNIMED) to explore prospects for institutional collaboration and discuss the University's participation in the Union's academic and research programs and projects at both the European and Mediterranean levels. During the meeting, the University delegation presented an overview of Al-Mustaqbal University's institutional development and academic structure, which comprises fifteen colleges. The presentation also highlighted the University's achievements in scientific research, international university rankings, sustainable development, and global partnerships. In addition, the delegation showcased the University's experience in delivering joint postgraduate programs in collaboration with leading universities in Malaysia and the Arab Republic of Egypt, reflecting its commitment to academic excellence and internationalization. The UNIMED delegation, in turn, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the Union's mission, programs, initiatives, and collaborative opportunities available to member institutions. The delegation emphasized the importance of active participation in UNIMED's activities as a means of strengthening universities' international visibility and fostering academic and research cooperation across the Mediterranean region and Europe. The Union also commended Al-Mustaqbal University for its advanced institutional performance, recognizing its notable accomplishments in scientific research, international rankings, global academic partnerships, and sustainable development. These achievements were acknowledged as clear indicators of the University's strategic vision and continuous pursuit of excellence. Furthermore, UNIMED expressed its readiness to involve Al-Mustaqbal University in upcoming calls for a number of major international programs and projects. The Union encouraged the University to begin early preparations by establishing specialized working groups and building international consortia to enhance its competitiveness in securing European-funded projects. The Al-Mustaqbal University delegation was headed by Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of the University, accompanied by several academic and administrative leaders. The UNIMED delegation was led by Dr. Marcello Scalisi, Executive Director of the Union, with the participation of the Union's program directors and senior officials.
