Al-Mustaqbal University launched a strategic cooperation initiative with the British Council in Iraq on the sidelines of the UK-Iraq Academic Bridge initiative, held at Al-Mustaqbal University on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. During the event, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Hassan Shaker Majdy, met with the Executive Director of the British Council in Iraq, Dr. Richard Sanderson, to discuss strengthening international academic cooperation. The initiative aimed to expand academic partnerships with leading UK universities, support the internationalization of higher education, improve the quality of academic programs and outcomes, and enhance the English language and research skills of both students and academic staff. The meeting included extensive discussions on implementing the British Council’s development initiatives, expanding academic and cultural exchange programs, strengthening direct collaboration with British universities, and supporting the University's English language centers in accordance with internationally recognized standards. The meeting also reflected the strong academic relationship between the two sides. The President of Al-Mustaqbal University presented a commemorative shield to the Executive Director of the British Council in appreciation of the Council’s continued support for higher education, in the presence of the University's Academic Supervisor, Professor Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi.
