As part of its ongoing efforts to expand international partnerships and strengthen its global academic presence, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdy, signed a Letter of Intent with the University of Reading, one of the United Kingdom’s leading and well-established universities, to enhance academic and research collaboration between the two institutions. The signing ceremony was attended by the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in the United Kingdom, Professor Dr. Qusai Al-Ahmadi, alongside a high-level academic and administrative delegation from the University of Reading. During the meeting, both sides discussed opportunities for cooperation in a range of academic and research fields aimed at creating valuable opportunities for students, faculty members, and researchers while promoting international academic engagement and knowledge exchange. The agreement focused on exploring the establishment of joint academic programs, including double-degree and progression pathways, in addition to discussing scholarship opportunities and special tuition discounts for students. The two universities also examined prospects for collaborative research projects and scientific exchange between their academic communities. On the sidelines of the ceremony, commemorative shields were exchanged as a symbol of mutual respect and a reflection of the promising partnership between the two institutions. The University President and the Iraqi Cultural Attaché also met with Iraqi students and researchers studying at the University of Reading, where they discussed their academic progress, listened to their aspirations and needs, and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence and contributing to the development of Iraq through their academic achievements. This initiative forms part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s strategic vision to establish effective partnerships with prestigious international universities and to provide outstanding educational and research opportunities that contribute to enhancing the quality of higher education and scientific research.
