In a historic academic milestone that solidifies its leadership both nationally and internationally, Al-Mustaqbal University has achieved a remarkable feat by ranking 1st among all public and private Iraqi universities in the British Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rating 2026. The university successfully secured its place within the prestigious global band (201–300) out of 1,603 international universities evaluated this year. By leading all 43 participating public and private Iraqi institutions, Al-Mustaqbal University confirmed its national pioneering role in embedding the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into institutional frameworks and tangible community initiatives. This milestone marks a sustainable trend of excellence; the university has maintained the top spot among all Iraqi universities in the THE Impact Ranking for the second consecutive year, and has led the nation's private universities for the fourth consecutive year. On the level of specific development goals, Al-Mustaqbal University captured the 1st place in Iraq across four vital SDGs: No Poverty (SDG1), Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG7), Climate Action (SDG13), and Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions (SDG16). Furthermore, it clinched the 2nd place nationally in Quality Education (SDG4), reflecting the caliber of its academic programs in preparing human capital to lead sustainable development. Commenting on this occasion, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdy, expressed his immense pride in these results, noting that this achievement is the fruition of the university’s strategic vision and unwavering commitment to institutional excellence.
