Launched by Al-Mustaqbal University, the leading private university in Iraq, the “AI Literacy Program” courses were organized through the Center for Continuing Education under the direct patronage and supervision of the university presidency. The initiative aims to strengthen digital competencies and develop academic and administrative capabilities in line with the requirements of digital transformation and rapid technological advancement. The program commenced during the 2025–2026 academic year with broad participation from faculty members, staff, and students. The opening sessions were attended by several university academics and affiliates, including Assistant Professor Dr. Fatimah Hashim Abayis, Head of the Aesthetic and Laser techniques Department while a team of specialized instructors and experts in artificial intelligence delivered the training courses. The program consists of six progressive training levels based on the internationally recognized AI literacy framework, beginning with foundational awareness and advancing to expert-level proficiency. This structure enables participants to acquire the knowledge and practical skills required to utilize artificial intelligence applications in academic, administrative, and research environments. The courses focus on introducing participants to the fundamental concepts of artificial intelligence, its major branches, and emerging trends, including analytical, predictive, and generative AI, while enhancing their ability to effectively employ modern digital tools. This initiative reflects Al-Mustaqbal University’s commitment to keeping pace with global technological developments and empowering its academic and administrative community with the competencies needed to integrate AI technologies into higher education and institutional practices, thereby improving performance quality and advancing educational services. The program contributes to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) through the promotion of digital skills, innovation, and lifelong learning.
