The President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, announced today, Saturday, June 20, 2026, that the university has achieved a new global academic milestone by securing third place among all Iraqi universities and first place among Iraqi private universities in the U.S. News & World Report – Best Global Universities Rankings 2026–2027, one of the world’s most prestigious and reputable higher education ranking systems. This international achievement comes as only eight Iraqi universities were included in the ranking. Al-Mustaqbal University was ranked 568th in Asia and also attained distinguished global positions in four specialized scientific and engineering disciplines, ranking 666th in Engineering, 632nd in Physical Chemistry, 696th in Materials Science, and 771st in Chemistry. These results are based on rigorous international indicators that assess academic and research reputation, citation impact, and international collaboration, utilizing data from the Clarivate Analytics database.
