Ranked as the leading private university in Iraq, Al-Mustaqbal University achieved third place among all Iraqi universities in the U.S. News & World Report – Best Global Universities 2026–2027 rankings, as announced by the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, on June 16, 2026. The ranking included eight Iraqi universities, with the University of Sulaymaniyah placing first nationally, followed by the University of Baghdad, while Al-Mustaqbal University secured third place overall and first among Iraq’s private universities. The university also ranked 568th in Asia, 771st globally in Chemistry, 666th in Engineering, 696th in Materials Science, and 632nd in Physical Chemistry. These results are based on internationally recognized indicators, including research reputation, scientific output, citation impact, international collaboration, and academic excellence using Clarivate Analytics data.
This achievement reflects the university’s continuous progress in scientific research, innovation, academic and research infrastructure development, support for researchers, and international scientific publishing in line with global best practices. Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi congratulated the university’s faculty members, staff, and students, emphasizing that this accomplishment is the result of institutional teamwork and the sustained support provided by the University Council for academic and research activities.
