Professor Dr. Saad Hassan Mohammed Ali, a faculty member at the College of Dentistry, Al-Mustaqbal University, and Chairman of the Iraqi National Certification Committee, participated in the 40th Meeting of the Regional Certification Commission of the World Health Organization (WHO) for the Eastern Mediterranean and North Africa Region, held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, from 9–11 June 2026, with the participation of representatives from member states across the region. During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Saad Hassan Mohammed Ali represented Iraq in discussions of national reports concerning the epidemiological status of poliomyelitis. He presented Iraq’s annual report, highlighting the country’s achievements and measures undertaken to maintain its polio-free status, as well as ongoing efforts in epidemiological surveillance, environmental monitoring, and immunization programs. The Iraqi report received widespread recognition from the Regional Certification Commission for its comprehensiveness, scientific rigor, and high-quality presentation of health data and indicators. The Commission also commended Iraq’s national efforts in maintaining a stable epidemiological situation and strengthening surveillance and containment programs. This distinguished international participation reflects the scientific standing of Prof. Dr. Saad Hassan Mohammed Ali and underscores the active role played by Al-Mustaqbal University in supporting academic expertise and representing Iraq at regional and international forums. Such contributions enhance the University’s scientific presence and reinforce its commitment to serving society and advancing public health initiatives of national and regional significance.
