Faculty members and students of the Department of Forensic Evidence, College of Science, Al-Mustaqbal University, participated in the scientific workshop entitled “The Role of Research Centers and the Innovation Ecosystem in Improving University Profiles in Local and International Rankings,” held at the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at the Al-Qadiya Campus, with the attendance of academics, researchers, and students. This participation reflects the department’s commitment to promoting a culture of scientific research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, while keeping pace with modern practices that contribute to improving academic and research performance and strengthening the university’s position in local and international rankings. The workshop opened with a speech delivered by Professor Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, who emphasized the importance of building a university environment based on innovation and the knowledge economy. He highlighted the pioneering initiatives launched by Al-Mustaqbal University, including the Future Council for University Artificial Intelligence and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center. The workshop also featured a comprehensive scientific presentation by Professor Dr. Tariq Jawad Al-Mousawi, who discussed the role of research centers and innovation ecosystems in supporting institutional performance indicators and enhancing university rankings. He further emphasized the importance of transforming innovative ideas and scientific research into projects, products, and services with tangible social and economic impact. The event witnessed active engagement from faculty members and students of the Department of Forensic Evidence through participation in scientific discussions and the exchange of ideas regarding international best practices in managing university innovation systems and investing student and research capabilities to achieve institutional excellence and academic leadership. The Department of Forensic Evidence emphasized the importance of participating in such scientific activities, which contribute to developing students’ research and innovation skills and encourage them to present creative ideas and initiatives that support scientific and academic advancement. This participation comes within Al-Mustaqbal University’s ongoing efforts to foster a culture of innovation and scientific research and to support the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).
