Promoted its commitment to entrepreneurship and innovation, Al-Mustaqbal University, the leading private university in Iraq, through the participation of a number of its staff members in the Training of Trainers (ToT) program in Entrepreneurship entitled “Project Plan Development – Riyada Initiative.” The program was organized by the University of Babylon in cooperation with the Directorate of Entrepreneurship and Excellence at the Prime Minister’s Office from 7–10 June 2026, with the participation of academics and entrepreneurship specialists from various universities and institutions across Iraq.
The training program witnessed active participation from Al-Mustaqbal University representatives, who contributed to specialized workshops and discussions by presenting ideas and proposals aimed at developing entrepreneurial projects targeting youth and graduates. These initiatives are designed to create sustainable employment opportunities and support local economic development.
The program covered a range of key topics, including modern entrepreneurship concepts, training methodologies for future trainers, and national programs designed to foster a supportive entrepreneurial ecosystem. Participants also received practical training on startup incubation mechanisms, mentoring and guidance techniques for entrepreneurs, and the development of training programs tailored to graduates and young people seeking to establish their own businesses.
At the conclusion of the program, the delegation of Al-Mustaqbal University presented a commemorative shield in the form of the Stele of Hammurabi to Dr. Hussein Flamerz, Advisor to the Prime Minister and Director of the Directorate of Entrepreneurship and Excellence, in recognition of his valuable scientific and training contributions to enhancing participants’ skills and promoting a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation.
This participation reflects the university’s commitment to building specialized training capacities capable of transferring entrepreneurial knowledge to students, graduates, and the wider community. It also supports startup development and contributes to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
