Strengthened its international academic presence, Al-Mustaqbal University, the leading private university in Iraq, by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and research cooperation agreement with the School of Pharmacy at the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, during an official visit aimed at expanding scientific collaboration and advancing international academic partnerships. The visit included a series of productive meetings with academic leaders and officials from the University of Nottingham and its School of Pharmacy, where both parties discussed mechanisms for activating their strategic partnership, developing twinning and dual-degree programs, and promoting joint research projects. These initiatives are intended to enhance educational quality, strengthen scientific research, and facilitate the exchange of academic expertise. This partnership holds particular significance given the distinguished reputation of both institutions. The School of Pharmacy at the University of Nottingham is ranked first in the United Kingdom and eighth globally in the field of pharmacy and maintains strategic collaborations with leading international pharmaceutical companies, providing outstanding opportunities for training and employment. Meanwhile, the College of Pharmacy at Al-Mustaqbal University has achieved a notable milestone by obtaining American Accreditation for Pharmacy Education, reflecting its commitment to the highest international academic standards. The visit culminated in the official signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions. The agreement aims to strengthen academic and research cooperation, promote knowledge exchange among faculty members and researchers, and create new opportunities for undergraduate and postgraduate students in pharmaceutical sciences and biotechnology. The partnership is expected to support innovation, scientific advancement, and the development of highly qualified graduates capable of contributing to global knowledge and healthcare sectors. This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), through fostering international collaboration, advancing research excellence, and strengthening academic capacity building.
