The President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdy, has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (Letter of Intent) with the ancient British institution, the University of Reading, aiming to open new horizons for scientific, academic, and research collaboration between the two universities.
The signing ceremony and bilateral discussions witnessed a high-level official presence, represented by the Iraqi Cultural Counselor in the United Kingdom, Prof. Dr. Qusay Al-Ahmady. The British side was represented by a senior academic and administrative delegation, including Prof. Elizabeth Allen, Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor for International Graduate Studies and Head of the International Academy at the University of Reading; Prof. Keiichi Nakata, Professor of Social Informatics and Director of the Informatics Research Centre at Henley Business School; Mr. Alex Boughton, Director of Global Engagement and Executive Assistant to the Director of External Relations; and Ms. Irem Ozsoy, Senior Regional Manager for International Student Recruitment.
The core clauses of the signed memorandum focused on exploring mechanisms to establish joint academic programs, including "Double Degrees" and academic twinning (Progression Degrees). Furthermore, the agreement aims to activate joint scientific research and exchange academic expertise, contributing to the development of students' and researchers' skills while advancing the educational process toward world-class standards.
