President of Al-Mustaqbal University Signs MoU with the UK’s University of Reading to Enhance Academic and Research Cooperation

​In line with its ongoing commitment to strengthening international relations and fostering engagement with prestigious global academic institutions, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, has signed a Letter of Intent (MoU) with the renowned University of Reading in the United Kingdom. ​The signing ceremony and subsequent discussions were attended by high-ranking officials, including the Iraqi Cultural Counselor to the United Kingdom, Professor Dr. Qusay Al-Ahmadi. The British delegation comprised a distinguished group of academic and administrative leaders, notably: ​Professor Elizabeth Allen, Associate Dean (Global Engagement) and Head of the International Academy at the University of Reading. ​Professor Keiichi Nakata, Professor of Social Informatics and Director of the Informatics Research Centre at Henley Business School. ​Mr. Alex Boughton, Global Engagement Manager and Executive Assistant to the Director of External Relations. ​Ms. Irem Ozsoy, Senior Regional Manager for International Student Recruitment. ​Horizons of Joint Cooperation ​The signed agreement aims to open new pathways for scientific, academic, and research collaboration between the two institutions. The core focus areas of the agreement include: ​Joint Academic Programs: Exploring frameworks for establishing double degree and progression degree programs, alongside academic twinning initiatives. ​Scholarships and Subsidies: Discussing the provision of tailored scholarships and tuition discounts for students. ​Scientific Research: Exploring potential opportunities for joint scientific research, the exchange of expertise, and collaborative projects between the respective faculties. ​On the sidelines of the ceremony, commemorative plaques were exchanged between the President of Al-Mustaqbal University and the British delegation, symbolizing the depth of bilateral academic relations and marking the launch of this promising partnership. ​In a supportive gesture reflecting paternal care for the students' academic journeys, the Iraqi delegation—represented by Professor Dr. Qusay Al-Ahmadi and the President of Al-Mustaqbal University—met with a group of sponsored Iraqi students and researchers currently studying at the University of Reading.
