Al-Mustaqbal University strengthened its international presence by participating in the first day of a specialized Erasmus+ workshop, held with the participation of more than 110 representatives from universities and higher education institutions, under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi. The three-day workshop aims to enhance participants’ understanding of Erasmus+ opportunities and the mechanisms for benefiting from its projects in the fields of international academic cooperation, academic mobility, capacity building, and the development of educational and research initiatives. The first day covered the program’s main priorities, including inclusion and diversity, digital transformation, environmental sustainability and climate action, as well as the promotion of civic engagement and democratic values. Participants also reviewed opportunities available to Iraqi universities through International Credit Mobility programs, Capacity Building in Higher Education projects, and the Erasmus Mundus and Jean Monnet initiatives. The workshop further addressed the procedures for developing competitive project proposals and the criteria used for their evaluation, emphasizing the importance of aligning proposals with national priorities and higher education development indicators to maximize opportunities for international cooperation and support. This participation reflects the commitment of Al-Mustaqbal University to expanding its international partnership network, strengthening internationalization, innovation, and sustainability efforts, and enhancing the quality of education in line with global best practices. It also contributes to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
