Al-Mustaqbal University Participates in an International Conference in Tunisia on Civilization in Africa and Asia

Al-Mustaqbal University participated in the International Conference entitled “Humanity and Civilization in Africa and Asia Throughout History,” which was held in the Republic of Tunisia from April 1–4, 2026, with the participation of distinguished researchers and academics from various Arab and international institutions. The university’s participation was represented through a joint research paper presented by Professor Dr. Mohsen Abdul Ali Al-Furaiji, Advisor to the Presidency of Al-Mustaqbal University, in collaboration with Professor Dr. Kadhim Mousa Mohammed Al-Taie from the University of Mosul. The study was entitled “The Sahara Desert Between the Concepts of Population Repulsion and Attraction.” The research aimed to highlight the demographic and civilizational dimensions of the Sahara Desert and to analyze its historical role in population movement and human interaction across African regions, while examining the factors that have influenced patterns of settlement and migration throughout history. The conference was hosted by the University of Tunis El Manar in coordination with the University of Mostaganem, Algeria. It brought together scholars and researchers to discuss a wide range of scientific and intellectual topics related to history, civilization, and cultural diversity in Africa and Asia, contributing to the promotion of academic dialogue and knowledge exchange. The Presidency of Al-Mustaqbal University expressed its pride in this distinguished scientific contribution, reaffirming the university’s commitment to supporting researchers and academics and encouraging their active participation in international conferences and academic forums, thereby enhancing the reputation of Iraqi scientific research at both regional and global levels. This participation reflects Al-Mustaqbal University’s ongoing efforts to promote scientific research and strengthen international academic cooperation, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Al-Mustaqbal University – the first university in Iraq.
