As part of its series of scientific and guidance activities aimed at empowering students and broadening their personal and professional horizons, Future University's Biomedical Engineering Department organized a specialized workshop entitled "Self-Development in University," under the direct supervision of Assistant Lecturer Iman Yasser Hussein. The workshop aimed to enable students to make the most of their academic journey. About the Workshop: The workshop aimed to highlight the strategic importance of investing university years in building students' soft skills and academic abilities. The session focused on preparing a generation of biomedical engineers capable of balancing academic excellence with professional and personal distinction, thus ensuring the development of their leadership qualities. Methodology: The workshop employed an interactive training approach, which included: Reviewing the most prominent self-development strategies, foremost among them the skill of setting SMART goals and the mechanisms for achieving them. Focusing on the two key aspects of effective time management and building self-confidence to confidently face academic and daily challenges. The workshop highlighted the pivotal role of these behavioral aspects in opening new horizons for academic success and facilitating a smooth transition from the classroom to the practical, field-based environment. The workshop witnessed a vibrant and engaging interaction from the attending students, who emphasized the importance of these developmental lectures in renewing their passion and enhancing their personal planning skills to serve their professional futures. Objectives of the Scientific and Guidance Activity: The themes of this workshop align directly with the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the university, including: Goal 4 (Quality Education): By providing comprehensive guidance content that contributes to developing students' abilities and empowering them both personally and intellectually, beyond the framework of traditional curricula. Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth): By empowering young people and developing their life and leadership skills to become competent individuals ready to meet the demands of the modern labor market and compete effectively within it.
