As part of its ongoing programs aimed at protecting the student community, the Department of Computer Engineering at the College of Engineering and Technology at Al-Mustaqbal University organized a comprehensive on-site awareness and guidance campaign on “The Dangers of Drugs and Psychotropic Substances and Their Devastating Impact on Individuals and Society,” under the supervision of Ms. Simaa Mohammad Jawad and Ms. Ru’a Star Jabbar, on Saturday, May 23, 2026. This initiative aimed to promote the principles of social responsibility and health prevention, and to develop students’ educational skills, in line with the requirements of quality and excellence in building a safe educational environment free from harmful behaviors for the 2025-2026 academic year, and in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being). The campaign included interactive field tours within the college halls, as well as the distribution of informational brochures and posters highlighting the health, psychological, and legal consequences of substance abuse, with a focus on modern standards in intellectual and community immunization mechanisms, delivered with intelligence and high professionalism. It also involved opening direct channels of dialogue with students to answer their questions and provide them with accurate scientific information. The activity received significant engagement and widespread praise from faculty and students alike, due to the campaign’s thoughtful awareness messages that contribute to creating a collective preventive culture ensuring the accurate identification of negative manifestations and limiting their spread within the youth community in accordance with international and national quality standards. The department’s leadership emphasized that holding these ongoing field activities directly contributes to improving institutional performance and fostering a culture of human solidarity, Ensuring the quality of educational and pedagogical outcomes, thereby supporting the achievement of Al-Mustaqbal University’s strategic objectives and enhancing its positive role as a sustainable center of cultural and awareness-raising influence that serves the public good.
