Department of Forensic Evidence at Al-Mustaqbal University Organizes Seminar on “Stem Cells”

The Department of Forensic Evidence at the College of Science, Al-Mustaqbal University, organized a scientific seminar entitled “Stem Cells” on Wednesday, 20/5/2026, at the Engineering Building – Hall 103, with the attendance of faculty members and department students. The seminar was presented by student Zahraa Mohammed Aboud under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Hwaida Nazzal Hussein, as part of a series of scientific seminars presented by first-stage students of the Department of Forensic Evidence. These seminars aim to develop students’ scientific and research skills and enhance their academic presentation abilities. The seminar discussed the concept of stem cells, their types, and their most important medical and scientific applications, in addition to their role in treating many chronic diseases. It also highlighted recent developments in stem cell research and their significance for the future of medicine and science. The seminar included a scientific presentation explaining the mechanism of stem cells and their uses in therapeutic and research fields, as well as a discussion of the major ethical and scientific challenges associated with their use. The seminar witnessed remarkable interaction from attendees through questions and scientific discussions, reflecting students’ interest in modern scientific topics and their eagerness to develop their academic and research knowledge. The department presidency affirmed its commitment to supporting scientific activities and student seminars that contribute to refining students’ skills and developing their intellectual and scientific abilities, in line with the university’s orientation toward supporting academic education and scientific research. This seminar comes as part of the efforts of Al-Mustaqbal University to support scientific and academic activities and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 related to quality education and lifelong learning opportunities.
