The Department of Forensic Evidence at the College of Science, Al-Mustaqbal University, organized a scientific workshop entitled “Hidden Digital Evidence” on Wednesday, 20/5/2026, at the Engineering Building – Hall 103, with the attendance of a number of faculty members and students. The workshop was delivered by student Ayat Zaher Abdul Abbas under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Hwaida Nazzal Hussein. The workshop discussed the concept of hidden digital evidence and its importance in forensic science and digital investigations, as well as modern methods used in detecting and analyzing hidden data within electronic devices and systems. The workshop aimed to enhance students’ scientific and academic awareness regarding cybercrime and methods of handling digital evidence, in addition to developing their skills in digital analysis and modern technologies used in forensic investigations. The activities included explanations of several practical applications and models related to the extraction and analysis of digital evidence, alongside discussions on the major challenges facing specialists in this field amid rapid technological advancement. The workshop witnessed remarkable interaction from attendees through questions and scientific discussions, reflecting students’ interest in modern technological fields related to forensic evidence and digital security. The department presidency affirmed its commitment to organizing workshops and scientific activities that contribute to developing students’ skills and enhancing their academic and research capabilities, in line with the university’s orientation toward supporting applied education and keeping pace with modern technological developments. This workshop comes as part of the efforts of Al-Mustaqbal University to support scientific and academic activities, enhance the quality of education, and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 related to quality education.
