Under the generous patronage of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Professor Dr. Ali Shaker Majdi, and within the framework of promoting social responsibility and humanitarianism, the Biomedical Engineering Department organized a field visit to the Pediatric Oncology Department at Imam Al-Sadiq Hospital.
About the Visit:
This initiative was organized under the direct supervision of Assistant Lecturer Iman Yasser Hussein and Engineer Mohammed Abdul Karim Razouqi. The visit aimed to strengthen the spirit of human solidarity and instill noble social values in the students through direct interaction with hospitalized children and providing them and their families with psychological and moral support during their treatment journey.
Methodology of the Initiative:
The visit included a humanitarian and interactive program, which involved:
• Presenting simple gifts and initiatives that effectively contributed to bringing joy and happiness and putting smiles on the children's faces.
• Creating an atmosphere of hope and optimism within the hospital to alleviate the burden of illness and provide moral support to the medical staff.
• Establishing channels of dialogue between the students and the medical department administration to affirm the readiness of biomedical engineers to support these vital institutions in the future. This step comes as a key part of the extracurricular activities that the department is keen to maintain, affirming the university's leading role in serving the surrounding community and strengthening the humanitarian aspect that complements the academic and scientific journey.
Objectives of the humanitarian activity:
