The Forensic Evidence Department at the College of Science at Al-Mustaqbal University organized an awareness campaign in the university corridors titled “Combating Violent Extremism Leading to Terrorism” on Wednesday, 13/5/2026, in the Administrative Building, with the participation of a number of department students. The campaign aimed to enhance intellectual and social awareness among students and promote a culture of moderation while rejecting extremist ideas that threaten the security and stability of society. The campaign aimed to raise students’ awareness of the dangers of violent extremism and its negative impacts on both individuals and society, as well as to promote the values of tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and national belonging, and to encourage students to adopt positive behaviors that contribute to building a safe and stable society. The campaign included a number of awareness activities throughout the university corridors, including the distribution of posters and educational brochures, in addition to providing guidance and advice on how to confront extremist ideas and limit their spread, as well as promoting a culture of dialogue and social awareness among students. The campaign was organized and supervised by Assistant Lecturer Bushra Hussein Atiya, Assistant Lecturer Mays Adi Mohammed, and Assistant Lecturer Raed Jawad Kazem, who emphasized the importance of community awareness and the role of educational institutions in combating extremism and enhancing intellectual security among young people. The campaign witnessed notable interaction from students through their participation and inquiries, reflecting their interest in societal issues and their eagerness to contribute to building a safe and aware university environment. The Forensic Evidence Department affirmed its continued commitment to organizing such awareness campaigns that contribute to building an intellectually and culturally conscious university community, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.
