The Cybersecurity Technologies Engineering Department at Al-Mustaqbal University, the leading private university in Iraq, launched an awareness campaign on Tuesday, 12-5-2026, within the university campus to enhance cybersecurity awareness among students and empower them to face increasing digital threats and protect their personal data from cyber risks. The campaign included the distribution of informational brochures focusing on methods of protection against modern cyberattacks and ways to counter malicious software targeting devices and privacy, in addition to providing guidance on securing accounts and detecting social engineering techniques. The campaign aimed to transform cybersecurity awareness from theoretical knowledge into daily practice that contributes to building a safer academic environment by strengthening digital culture among students and encouraging safe online behaviors. This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, and Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, by promoting technical awareness and enhancing digital security within the academic community.
