In line with the University of the Al-Mustaqbal’s vision to promote environmental awareness, the Department of Computer Engineering at the College of Engineering and Technology launched a large-scale field awareness campaign under the slogan “Sustainable Energy for a Better Al-Mustaqbal… Clean Energy, Safe Environment, Prosperous Generations," on Thursday, May 14, 2026, under the supervision of Professors (M.M. Simaa Muhammad Jawad, M.M. Ruwa Star Jabbar, and M. Hussein Muslim Abbas). This campaign was organized with the aim of promoting the principles of social responsibility and the conservation of Earth’s resources, as well as developing students’ leadership skills in disseminating digital and environmental knowledge, in line with the requirements of quality and excellence in adopting renewable energy solutions for the 2025–2026 academic year. The campaign included field tours within the university campus and the distribution of informational brochures highlighting the benefits of sustainable energy and its sources, such as solar and wind energy, with a focus on modern standards for rationalizing consumption and reducing carbon emissions, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), according to global scientific quality standards. The event saw significant engagement from students and staff, as the volunteer team provided a comprehensive explanation of the challenges facing the energy transition and ways to address them with intelligence and high professionalism, thereby creating an opportunity to foster a culture of “from energy consumers to creators of a better Al-Mustaqbal” amid an atmosphere of fruitful cooperation to serve the educational and community environment. The department’s leadership emphasized that these initiatives contribute to improving institutional performance, fostering a culture of innovation in the use of green technology, and ensuring the accuracy of awareness messages directed at the community, This supports the achievement of Al-Mustaqbal University’s strategic goals and enhances its leading role in international environmental issues. This event is part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s efforts to support programs for the transition to sustainable energy and comprehensive digital transformation, and to create a pioneering educational environment that contributes to improving academic rankings and cementing the university’s position as a cultural hub for sustainable innovation.
