The Forensic Evidence Department at the College of Science at Al-Mustaqbal University, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Division, organized an awareness lecture on Tuesday, 12/5/2026, entitled: “Women’s Rights in Iraqi Laws and Their Role in Achieving Security and Stability,” with the participation of a number of faculty members and students. The lecture aimed to enhance legal awareness regarding women’s rights and highlight their active role in building a safe and stable society, as well as emphasizing the importance of supporting and empowering women in various social and legal fields. The event included awareness and educational discussions addressing the most prominent rights guaranteed to women under Iraqi law, in addition to discussing the role of women in promoting community security and social and family stability. The lecture was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Bushra Hussein Atiyah, who reviewed the legal aspects related to women’s rights and stressed the importance of spreading legal awareness within the university community. The lecture witnessed remarkable interaction from the attendees through questions and discussions, reflecting the level of interest in social and legal issues that contribute to promoting the values of justice and equality. The department presidency affirmed its commitment to organizing such awareness activities that contribute to raising the level of cultural and legal awareness among students and strengthening the role of academic institutions in serving society and supporting humanitarian issues. This activity comes within the efforts of Al-Mustaqbal University to provide an integrated educational and cultural environment and to support the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 5 related to gender equality and Goal 16 related to peace, justice, and strong institutions.
