The Women Empowerment Committee in the Department of Cybersecurity Technologies Engineering, under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdy, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and in cooperation with the Women Empowerment Division at the Engineering Technical College, organized a dialogue session with the department’s female students. The session aimed to listen to their opinions and academic experiences and identify the أبرز challenges and aspirations they face throughout their educational journey.
The session included discussions on several important topics related to students’ perceptions of the department before and after joining it, and the impact of scientific activities and events on developing their skills and increasing their enthusiasm for learning and participation. It also highlighted the importance of participating in scientific competitions and championships and their role in building confidence and gaining practical experience.
The session also witnessed the distribution of a special questionnaire to the department’s female students, which included a set of discussion questions aimed at measuring their opinions and evaluating their experiences within the department, in addition to identifying their suggestions and ideas that contribute to improving the educational environment and supporting students academically and professionally.
This initiative aimed to analyze students’ responses and benefit from the questionnaire results in preparing future plans and activities that meet their needs and contribute to strengthening women’s roles and empowerment in technical fields, particularly cybersecurity.
This activity comes within the implementation of the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security (2025–2030), specifically within the Protection Pillar, through supporting students, listening to their opinions, and working to provide a motivating and safe educational environment that contributes to developing their scientific and personal abilities.
The activity also contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) through supporting the educational environment and developing students’ skills, and Goal 5 (Gender Equality) by empowering women and strengthening their role in technical fields.
This activity reflects the department’s commitment to supporting and empowering female students and enhancing their active participation in university life, in light of the distinguished academic and scientific achievements of Al-Mustaqbal University, ranked first among private universities in Iraq.
