Al-Mustaqbal University, the leading private university in Iraq, organized on 7-5-2026 a specialized practical workshop entitled “Fundamentals of Using Packet Tracer and Wireshark” for students of the Cybersecurity Engineering Department, as part of its training plan aimed at developing students’ practical skills and linking academic concepts with real-world applications. This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.
The workshop was delivered by cybersecurity specialist at Al-Mustaqbal University, where he provided a practical explanation of the fundamentals of network design and simulation using Packet Tracer, in addition to introducing mechanisms for analyzing data traffic and monitoring networks using Wireshark, both of which are essential tools for building technical competencies in cybersecurity.
The workshop witnessed remarkable student engagement through direct practical application, enabling participants to gain a deeper understanding of network operations, packet capturing, and analysis. This significantly contributed to enhancing their technical capabilities and strengthening their readiness to handle real-world cybersecurity scenarios.
