The Department of Cybersecurity Engineering Technologies at the Engineering Technical College of Al-Mustaqbal University, the leading private university in Iraq, strengthened its efforts on 4-5-2026 to promote digital awareness among children by organizing an educational and awareness activity for students of one of the gifted kindergartens entitled “Digital Safety for Children: Early Steps Toward Safe Internet Use.” The initiative aimed to establish concepts of safe and responsible digital practices from an early age. The activity featured an instructional video presented through interactive screens in a simplified and child-friendly manner. It focused on teaching children how to distinguish between real friends and fake individuals on the internet, while also raising awareness about the importance of protecting personal information and passwords, and avoiding unclear or untrustworthy links and applications. The event witnessed remarkable engagement from the children and strong interest in the awareness content presented, reflecting the importance of simplifying cybersecurity concepts and delivering them through innovative educational methods. This initiative comes as part of the department’s commitment to strengthening its social and educational role, in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, reaffirming the leading position of Al-Mustaqbal University, the top private university in Iraq, and its pioneering role in supporting purposeful educational initiatives.
