The Biomedical Engineering Department at Future University organized a scientific seminar titled "The Use of Surgical Lasers." The seminar addressed the most prominent applications of laser technology in modern surgical procedures and its crucial role in improving the accuracy of medical procedures and reducing complications. It also highlighted the importance of laser technology in developing therapeutic techniques and supporting innovation in the field of medical engineering. The seminar was presented by third-year students under the supervision of: Assistant Lecturer Hiba Dhiaa Abdul-Amir Key topics covered in the seminar included: • Surgical Precision: Highlighting how lasers can be used as an alternative to the traditional scalpel to ensure minimal damage to surrounding tissues. • Therapeutic Efficiency: The role of technology in reducing bleeding, accelerating recovery time, and minimizing the risk of surgical infections. • Medical Engineering Integration: Explaining the physical and engineering mechanisms that make lasers a decisive tool in microsurgery. The seminar witnessed significant interaction from students and attendees, contributing to the enhancement of scientific knowledge about the latest medical technologies used in the surgical field and their various applications. Alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): The symposium's themes align with the global trends in sustainable development adopted by the university, particularly: 1.
