Optical Technologies Department Completes Essential for the Low Vision Laboratory

As part of its commitment to enhancing the quality of education and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals—particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education)—the Optics Techniques Department has announced the implementation of a distinguished scientific activity involving the preparation and a diverse set of optical magnifiers. These are considered essential and fundamental tools for the Low Vision Laboratory. This achievement comes efforts to develop the infrastructure of educational laboratories. The Low Vision Laboratory is regarded as a specialized and leading facility that directly contributes to examining and determining visual acuity levels in patients with visual impairment. It also supports the practical aspects of student training and enhances their skills in accordance with the latest scientific standards. The department leadership emphasized that this activity represents an advanced step toward providing an integrated educational environment that keeps pace with modern developments in optical technologies. It also contributes to preparing qualified graduates capable of serving the community, particularly in the diagnosis and management of vision problems. This initiative reflects the department’s commitment to integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application, in alignment with sustainable development requirements, and reinforces the role of educational institutions in delivering high-quality services with a positive societal impact.
