Title: Women’s Affairs Unit in the Forensic Evidence Department Organizes a Workshop on the Role of Women in Enhancing Community Security

Under the patronage of the University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Assistant Prof. Dr. Furat Hameed, the Women’s Affairs Unit in the Forensic Evidence Department organized a training workshop on Monday, 27/4/2026, titled “The Role of Women in Enhancing Community Security.” The workshop was held at the Humanities Building – Ground Floor – Hall 008, as part of a series of activities aimed at empowering women and strengthening their role in building a safe and stable society, with the participation of faculty members and students. This workshop aimed to highlight the vital role women play in promoting a culture of peace and tolerance within society, as well as their contribution to social stability through awareness and community education. The workshop included interactive lectures and training sessions supervised by Ms. Mais Uday Adi Muhammad Nouri, who emphasized the importance of empowering women and developing their skills to become active contributors to community security. The sessions also addressed key skills women should possess, including effective communication, decision-making, crisis management, and their role in strengthening family and social bonds. The workshop witnessed remarkable engagement from the participating students, who actively contributed through discussions and questions, reflecting a growing awareness of the importance of women’s empowerment in achieving societal security and stability. The organizers affirmed their commitment to holding such activities that contribute to raising community awareness and reinforcing the role of women as essential partners in building a secure and stable society. This workshop comes as part of the university’s ongoing efforts to support awareness and development initiatives, promote women’s roles across various fields, and align with sustainable development goals, particularly those related to gender equality and building peaceful communities.
