The Department of Industrial Medical Technologies Organizes a Training Workshop on Wound Suturing for First-Year Students

The Department of Industrial Medical Technologies at the College of Health and Medical Technologies, University of Al-Mustaqbal, organized a specialized training workshop for first-year students on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, on wound suturing, under the supervision of Mr. Kadhim Hussein Jassim. The workshop aimed to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 4 (Quality Education), as well as to develop students’ skills and enhance their practical competencies within a modern educational environment. The workshop included a scientific explanation of the different types of wounds and methods of management, in addition to an introduction to the fundamentals of surgical suturing, sterilization techniques, and professional safety standards. It also featured hands-on practical sessions that provided students with the opportunity to practice suturing techniques using specialized medical instruments. The workshop emphasized the importance of such training activities in preparing students with solid practical skills, contributing to enhancing their readiness to handle various medical cases in the future. This workshop comes in line with the vision of University of Al-Mustaqbal to support applied education and advance the scientific and practical competencies of its students, in accordance with the requirements of the healthcare labor market.
