Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Division, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Health and Medical Technologies / Department of Aesthetic and Laser Techniques organized an awareness workshop on Monday, April 26, 2026, entitled: “Verbal Abuse and Its Impact on Women’s Mental Health.” This workshop is part of the scientific and awareness activities conducted by the Women’s Affairs Committee and aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Goal 4 (Quality Education), and Goal 5 (Gender Equality). The workshop was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Haiman Walid Mazloom and Ms. Shahad Nawras. It addressed the psychological and social effects of verbal abuse that women may face in both academic and community settings, highlighting its negative impact on self-confidence, mental health, and academic and social performance. The session also discussed ways to reduce this phenomenon by promoting a culture of mutual respect, encouraging positive communication, and raising awareness about the importance of psychological and social support for women. This workshop reflects the principle of participation and institutional reform by strengthening the role of educational institutions in raising awareness about the risks of verbal abuse and working toward creating a safe and supportive university environment based on respect and equality, thereby contributing to the protection and empowerment of women and enhancing their active participation in the academic community.
