As part of efforts to enhance health awareness and promote scientific culture, the Optics Techniques Department at the College of Health and Medical Technologies organized an awareness workshop titled “Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria” in the Activities Hall on Monday, April 27, 2026. The workshop was delivered by Lecturer Safa Amer Khalil, in the presence of a number of the department’s faculty members.
The workshop addressed the growing risks of antibiotic resistance, highlighting its causes, particularly the misuse and overuse of medications without proper medical consultation. It also reviewed the latest preventive strategies aimed at reducing the spread of this global health issue. Furthermore, the lecture emphasized the importance of raising community awareness and adhering to medical guidelines to ensure the rational use of antibiotics.
The event witnessed positive engagement from attendees, with scientific discussions that enriched knowledge and deepened understanding of this vital topic, reflecting positively on health practices within and beyond the academic environment.
This workshop aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through raising awareness about diseases and prevention, and Goal 4 (Quality Education) by promoting scientific knowledge and enhancing health culture among students and academic staff.
The Optics Techniques Department reaffirms its commitment to organizing scientific and awareness activities that contribute to improving health awareness and strengthening the role of academic institutions in serving the community.
