As part of its ongoing efforts to promote a culture of innovation and social responsibility, the Department of Financial and Banking Sciences at the College of Administrative Sciences, Al-Mustaqbal University, organized a specialized scientific workshop on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, titled “Entrepreneurship in Sustainable Development.”
The workshop, delivered by Assistant Lecturer Noor Shamkhi and Assistant Lecturer Ghadeer Haider Saeedn, witnessed notable attendance from students, researchers, and individuals interested in innovation-related fields. The two lecturers highlighted the concept of “green projects” and how to design entrepreneurial business models that not only aim for financial profit but also place environmental protection and community service at the core of their strategies.
The workshop addressed several key themes, focusing on:
Developing creative thinking: Encouraging participants to generate practical solutions to real problems facing the local economy.
Sustainability as a strategic choice: Presenting business models that help reduce environmental impact and enhance resource efficiency.
Social responsibility: How to align startups with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to improve quality of life.
“The main objective of this event is to empower young people with the tools of the modern economy, which does not separate financial efficiency from ethical responsibility toward the planet and society.”
This workshop comes as part of a series of regular scientific activities adopted by the Department of Financial and Banking Sciences to bridge the gap between academic learning and the evolving labor market. The workshop concluded with a recommendation to adopt modern approaches in project management, ensuring the building of a strong and sustainable economy capable of addressing current environmental and social challenges.
