Instead, the focus has shifted toward developing higher-order thinking skills, particularly critical thinking. The adoption of modern teaching strategies is considered one of the most important means to achieve this transformation, as they provide interactive learning environments that encourage analysis, discussion, and inference. Concept of Critical Thinking Critical thinking is defined as a structured mental process aimed at analyzing and evaluating information objectively in order to reach well-reasoned judgments based on evidence and logic. It includes skills such as analysis, interpretation, inference, and evaluation. Importance of Developing Critical Thinking Among Students The importance of critical thinking lies in its ability to: Enhance students’ ability to solve problems and make decisions Develop analytical and interpretive skills Help distinguish between accurate and misleading information Promote intellectual independence Meet the demands of the modern labor market Modern Teaching Strategies Active Learning This approach involves engaging students in the learning process through interactive activities such as discussions and group work, which enhances thinking and analysis. Cooperative Learning This strategy is based on working in small groups where students exchange ideas and analyze information collectively, fostering deeper thinking. Project-Based Learning Students are assigned practical projects that require research, analysis, and evaluation, contributing to the development of critical thinking skills.
