The Al-Mustaqbal University Newspaper, issued by Al-Mustaqbal University, won the Best News Coverage Award during the National University Journalism Festival, which was held on Saturday morning, 18/4/2026, at Imam Al-Sadiq University (peace be upon him). The judging committee announced the award following strong competition involving a large number of newspapers issued by public and private universities and their colleges, with notable participation from representatives of academic institutions and various media outlets. Prof. Dr. Akram Faraj Al-Rubaie, Head of the Media Department at Al-Mustaqbal University and Editor-in-Chief of the Al-Mustaqbal University Newspaper, received the award shield in recognition of the outstanding efforts in providing distinguished news coverage and professionally following up on the festival’s activities. This achievement reflects the level of development in university media performance and the role of student journalism in supporting academic activities and enhancing competitiveness among educational institutions. The award aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), by strengthening media and academic cooperation between universities.
