The launch of the First Medical Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy Symposium to promote a sustainable life.

The First Medical Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy Symposium, organized by the Department of Medical Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy for the period 18–19/4/2026, was launched in a specialized scientific atmosphere, under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Health and Medical Technologies, Dr. Zahraa Halim Al-Qayyim, and the follow-up of the Head of the Department, Dr. Zaid Saad Abdul Madi, with active participation from Al-Qaim Company and a group of distinguished physicians and lecturers from various medical specialties. The symposium featured a series of advanced scientific lectures, where Dr. Aoun Al-Shaai reviewed the role of robotic technologies in physiotherapy and their impact on accelerating rehabilitation processes and improving the efficiency of therapeutic programs. Dr. Mustafa Ali Sharif discussed the use of laser technology in physiotherapy and its role in pain reduction and supporting healing. Dr. Montather Hassan Shubber also presented a lecture on (FreeEMG) technology and its importance in assessing muscular performance and accurately diagnosing conditions. Meanwhile, the Head of the Department, Dr. Zaid Saad Abdul Madi, emphasized that medical rehabilitation is a fundamental pillar of complementary treatment due to its direct impact on improving patients’ quality of life. The symposium was organized within the framework of enhancing the exchange of scientific expertise and developing clinical skills among specialists, contributing to the improvement of healthcare services and the quality of patient care. This activity aims to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 related to Good Health and Well-being, and Goal 4 related to Quality Education, by supporting training and scientific development in the health field. Al-Mustaqbal University, the first among private universities in Iraq, reaffirms its continuous commitment to supporting rigorous scientific activities. At the conclusion of the event, the lecturers and participants were honored by the college deanship in the presence of the Scientific Assistant, Dr. Ahmed Al-Khafaji, in appreciation of their efforts in the success of the symposium and their contribution to academic and professional development.
