Ms. Maryam organized a scientific article in the Department of Emergency Medical Technologies at Al-Mustaqbal University about the nervous system and the mechanism of signal transmission. The scientific community has witnessed increasing interest in studying the nervous system due to its fundamental role in regulating the functions of the human body. The nervous system is primarily responsible for receiving stimuli from both the external and internal environments, analyzing them, and then producing appropriate responses. Researchers have explained that neurons are the basic unit of this system, as they transmit signals through what are known as nerve impulses. This process occurs in two stages: the first is electrical within the cell, where the signal is transmitted as impulses resulting from changes in electrical charges; the second is chemical between cells through substances known as neurotransmitters. Specialists have pointed out that this complex mechanism operates with great speed and precision, allowing the body to respond instantly to stimuli such as pain or temperature. They also confirmed that any disruption in the transmission of these signals may lead to neurological disorders affecting movement or sensation. Scientists hope that such studies will contribute to the development of modern treatments for neurological diseases and improve our understanding of how the human brain functions.
