The Department of Emergency Medical Technologies at the College of Health and Medical Technologies, Al-Mustaqbal University, participated on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, in the fourth week of sustainability activities, with the involvement of a number of faculty members and students. This took place the Fourth International Al-Mustaqbal Sustainability Week 2026. As part of these activities, Al-Mustaqbal University launched the “Sustainability March” initiative, under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and with wide participation from university staff and students, known as the “Al-Mustaqbal Sustainability Ambassadors.” The event reflected a strong institutional commitment to sustainability culture and responsible environmental action. At the opening of the event, the University President praised the large and active participation of students and staff, emphasizing that this distinguished presence demonstrates a high level of environmental awareness and institutional belonging. He noted that it reflects the university’s success in embedding sustainability concepts as a practical approach and daily behavior both داخل and خارج the campus. He added that such initiatives represent a fundamental pillar in preparing a conscious generation capable of leading change toward a more balanced and sustainable future. On the other hand, the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Professor Dr. Muzaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi, stated in his speech that the “Sustainability March” represents a practical implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and a true reflection of the path the university has pursued since 2019 in its efforts to become a sustainable institution. He also highlighted the important role of students in promoting sustainability culture, raising environmental awareness, and transferring these practices to the wider community. The march included several awareness stops, during which participants were introduced to the university’s أبرز initiatives in sustainability. These included expanding green spaces, preserving biodiversity, adopting clean energy, applying hydroponic and tissue culture techniques, as well as waste recycling and treatment programs, the use of modern irrigation technologies, and promoting green transportation practices within the campus—all of which contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. This initiative is part of a series of qualitative activities carried out by Al-Mustaqbal University, reaffirming its leading role in supporting sustainable development pathways and strengthening community partnerships, in alignment with global trends toward building a green and innovative educational environment.
