As part of advanced research efforts to advance leadership in biomedical technologies, a research team in the Department of Computer Engineering at the College of Engineering and Technology at Al-Mustaqbal University has completed a distinguished scientific project aimed at improving the accuracy of automated detection of electrocardiogram (ECG) signals, and identify vital pulse patterns with high accuracy for the 2025–2026 academic year. This achievement was undertaken to promote the principles of rigorous scientific research, keep pace with the digital revolution in medical diagnostics, and develop students’ cognitive and technical skills, in line with the requirements of quality and excellence in finding smart solutions to health challenges in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 on “Good Health and Well-being.” The work involved developing technical solutions to address noise in cardiac signals and extract the $R$ wave and the $P, Q, S, T$ waves, where the researchers relied on the Support Vector Machine ($SVM$) algorithm to classify cases of arrhythmia ($ARR$), congestive heart failure (CHF), and normal sinus rhythm (NSR), achieving a scientific accuracy of 99.4%, which reflects modern standards adopted in the design of diagnostic systems. The practical aspect of the project involved using the $LattePanda$ device as a processing platform, demonstrating the potential to integrate artificial intelligence technologies into embedded ($Embedded\ Systems$) and applying them in real-world environments with high intelligence and professionalism, while ensuring that laboratory results align with field requirements in accordance with international scientific quality standards. The College Dean’s Office affirmed that this work, conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Haider Jabbar Abdul Nassar Al-Janabi and through the efforts of a student team (Ali Rasul Hassan, Hassan Muhammad Jawad, Haider Muhammad Jawad, Muhammad Haider Sabah, and Muhammad Salah Salman), contributes to improving institutional performance, and to foster a culture of technological innovation and ensure the accuracy of research outputs, thereby supporting the achievement of the university’s strategic goals and enhancing the college’s scientific representation in international forums. This scientific event is part of Al-Mustaqbal University’s efforts to support academic excellence programs and comprehensive digital transformation, and to create a pioneering educational environment that contributes to improving academic rankings and cementing the university’s position as a cultural hub for sustainable innovation.
