An awareness campaign on the Dark Web as a criminal platform was launched at Al-Mustaqbal University on April 13, 2026, with the participation of students from the Cybersecurity Engineering Technologies Department. The campaign aimed to enhance students’ awareness of the risks associated with using the Dark Web as a digital environment exploited for illegal activities, while explaining how such platforms operate and how they are used by criminal entities, in addition to outlining protection and prevention methods against related threats. This activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), by promoting cybersecurity awareness and combating cybercrime. The initiative reflects the efforts of the Cybersecurity Engineering Technologies Department in spreading cybersecurity culture and underscores the leadership of Al-Mustaqbal University as the leading private university in Iraq in adopting impactful scientific initiatives.
